Kalya Peace Village is a youth-led association founded in Kosike Village, just 5 km from Amudat Likitonyala Road. Born from a vision of unity, peace, and empowerment, the village was established by young people from different regions of Karamoja, as well as from neighboring countries like Kenya and South Sudan. The initiative emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when many youth found themselves stranded, without work, and searching for ways to sustain themselves. With schools closed and activities halted by government restrictions, the need for a sense of purpose and economic opportunity became urgent. In response, these young individuals came together to create a space where they could work, learn, and grow collectively, turning a challenging period into an opportunity for transformation. Today, Kalya Peace Village stands as a symbol of hope, self-reliance, and community-driven development. Through eco-tourism, cultural experiences, and outdoor adventures, the village not only provides sustainable livelihoods for youth but also welcomes visitors to experience the beauty, traditions, and hospitality of the region. More than just a destination, Kalya Peace Village is a movement, a place where young people shape their own futures while preserving the rich heritage of Karamoja. 🌿 Visit Kalya Peace Village – where community, culture, and adventure come together!✨
